Transportation To & From Winter Park

Winter Park is about 11 miles north of Orlando International Airport (OIA). OIA is consistently rated as one of the best airports in the country. Rental cars, shuttle, bus, taxi and limousine services are available from the airport.

In addition, the Orlando Sanford International Airport is 20 miles north of Winter Park with rental car, shuttle, taxi and limousine services available. For private accommodations, Orlando Executive Airport is only three miles from Winter Park and supports both prop and private jet service.

Directions
Winter Park is five miles north of downtown Orlando. From Orlando International Airport, take State Road 436 exit North (Semoran Boulevard). Take SR 436 11 miles to State Road 426 (Aloma Avenue). Turn left (there are two left turn lanes) and follow Aloma Avenue 2.1 miles to Park Avenue, turn right. (Rollins College will be on your left.)

From Walt Disney World, take I-4 East through Orlando (approximately 26 miles). Take Exit #45 Fairbanks Avenue. Turn right (east) and go 2 miles on Fairbanks Avenue to Park Avenue.

Pedestrian & Bicycle Friendly

On foot:
Aside from the health benefits and the low cost, there is no better way to experience Winter Park than as a pedestrian. Walking down Park Avenue, the main street in Winter Park, there are many alfresco cafes, upscale boutiques and gift shops, home decor galleries and museums, posh clothing stores and stationery shops just steps away from the sophisticated, cozy Park Plaza Hotel. The village green, Central Park, offers a manicured and shady respite from a day’s walking.

By Pedal:
Getting around Winter Park on bicycle can show you a view of the city difficult to experience by car. The 3.5 mile Cady Way Trail connects the Ward and Showalter Fields with Baldwin Park and Fashion Square. Many streets have designated bike lanes and the city is assessing other opportunities to add bike friendly lanes and paths on or near roadways.

Parking

Free Parking:
Two, three, and four hour parking is available on Park Avenue. Free all day parking is available in municipal lots on Morse Boulevard and Canton Avenue near Park Avenue and in the parking garage at Canton and Park Avenue. Pay parking is available on the south end of Park Avenue in the SunTrust garage.

Free Valet Parking:
Valet stations are located on New England Avenue next to Park Avenue and on north Park Avenue next to Canton Avenue.
